This class is based around a 'flow' or sequence of yoga shapes/poses put together to support flexibility, strength and balance and hopefully to have fun. It is designed to support both our physical and mental balance. As well as the physical yoga shapes there will also be opportunities for breath and mindfulness practices. There will be plenty of props available to support or challenge incuding yoga blocks, bricks, straps, bolsters and the chair or a wall. This class will include changing level and moving (gently if we want) from the mat to standing without significant pain or discomfort (a bit of creaking or clicking absolutely fine!). There will be plenty of options and adaptations given to suit what your body or mind needs and everything is optional. Suitable for beginners or those who have practised before. If you prefer at the moment to have the option of being in a chair throughout or less transitioning up and down the Accessible Chair/Mat/Standing Yoga Class might suit you better at the moment.

You can choose whether you want to be in a chair for all of the class or just some. You will also have the option of standing using the chair or wall for support, being on the mat or mixing and matching to suit what your mind and body needs on the day. The venue is accessible so can accomodate wheelchairs. This class includes some breathing and mindfulness practices, gentle yoga shapes and sequences. Even if we are starting in different places, we all practise together in community. You can do as little or as much as you want. As well as a chair, we can also use other props to support or challenge including blocks, straps, bricks and bolsters. There will be time and space to work out how to adapt shapes to suit your needs. This class is open to anyone who wants to come. It is particularly suitable if mat based classes feel a bit much at the moment, if your body or mind needs some adaptations made or you just want a bit of a sit down and chance to breathe!
